My cousin decided to take us to The Laughing Cavalier. The restaurant would do well with some promotional campaign and ads as it’s hardly known even in the neighboring areas. It’s situated in the ground floor of a residential building and the locality doesn’t complement the restaurant.
The place prides itself on fusion food – and delivers it too. Art and food go hand in hand in this place. There are beautiful paintings and curios all over and a kitchen with a glass wall that allows you to see what’s brewing!!
The service also sets the restaurant apart. For all the dishes we ordered the manager, Desmond, checked the order with the waiters and walked over to make suggestions on the number of items. All through the meal, there was constant attention paid to what we ordered and how much and what we were looking for.
We ordered a Caesar Salad, an exotic medley of vegetables and herbs, Risotto, flavored with Basil Pesto and cooked with green peas and American corn. Trying out one of their pizzas is a must do as it all freshly baked in their unique Neapolitan wood fired oven. We opted for a Pizza Del Coltivatore- with Tomatoes, Broccoli, bell pepper, Mozzarella cheese, and spinach. All dishes were made extremely well and Desmond made it a point to ask how each dish tasted.
The average price of each dish is around Rs 200, definitely worth the quality and the ambience.
I would definitely recommend it at least to people staying in the western suburbs of Mumbai to visit the place.
