It’s located outside the well known Samrat restaurant and has a small seating area of around 10 tables. Since we were the early birds that day we got to see the full stock of oven fresh delicacies. We spent some time admiring the mouth watering display of Cakes, Chocolates, Pastries, pizzas and puffs.
To begin with we ordered for a Paneer Cheese Plait, and an Open Veg Pizza. The Paneer Cheese Plait had a very liberal filling of paneer, coupled with a liberal cheese spread and the soft bread just melted in the mouth. The Open Veg Pizza too had lots of cheese, with a crunchy base and was delicious.
What’s a meal without a dessert even if it’s breakfast so we again went to survey the display. There was a huge variety of pastries- Chocolate Zebra, Blueberry Cheese cake, Ferrero rocher, Fresh pineapple, Dark chocolate, White Sinful chocolate, Strawberry black forest, Chocolate Gooey, Mousse Cake, Crunchy Bottom cake, Kit Kat cake, etc. It was almost traumatic of us to let go one and choose the other.
We finally settled for a Chocolate Zebra (a huge portion) and a Choco-Walnut Tart and both were out of the earth. They also pack stuff as take-away in cute book shaped boxes. We packed some paneer quiche and Apple walnut pie for my family and they too went gaga over it.
The service is quick but it’s self-service and all items are vegetarian and egg less, a boon for Veggies like me. A lot of young crowd from the neighboring colleges hang out there and evenings are very crowded.
Overall, one of the best places to have breakfast or brunch and it’s definitely value for money. Among the prices I remember are The Open Veg Pizza -Rs 25 and the Paneer Cheese Plait -Rs 30. That’s surely cheaper than any café that I’ve visited.
