A quick and presentable recipe made with tangy and spicy potatoes, bread layer and yogurt.
Ingredients:
- Bread-4 Slices(Round)
- Potatoes-4 Medium Size(Boiled And Mashed)
- Tomatoes-1 Medium Size(Chopped)
- Onion-2 Medium (Finely Chopped)
- Yogurt-2 Tbsp
- Mustard Seeds-2 Tbsp
- Curry Leaves- 10-15
- Jeera Powder-1 Tbsp
- Coriander Powder-1 Tbsp
- Garam Masala-1 Tbsp
- Turmeric-1 Tbsp
- Red Chilli Powder-1 Tbsp
- Coriander Leaves-2 Tbsp
- Salt-2 Taste
- Oil
Procedure:
The mixture:
Heat oil in a non stick pan and add mustard seeds & curry leaves. When it crackles add finely chopped onions. Stir it for 2 min. Add boiled potatoes, add jeera powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, coriander leaves, garam masala and salt. Mix it well and cook for 10 min.
The tempering:
Heat 1 tbsp oil and add mustard seed..keep it aside.Take yogurt in a bowl and in it add salt to taste and the above cooked mustard seeds.
How to proceed:
Cut bread slices in round shape with the help of katori…apply the potato mixture on one side of the round bread..heat 1 tbsp oil in a non stick pan and put this bread slice with the potato mixture facing the pan…when the potato mixture turns it color to brown…apply yogurt tempering on the other side of the bread covering it nicely so that the bread absorbs the yogurt nicely..u can even make 4 idli sandwiches at the same time..serve hot..!!
