Dry dates and fig milkshake

Let me introduce you to one of the most exotic milkshakes made from rich dryfuits like dry dates and figs. Considering that it is made from dry fruits, it is rich in nutrition and taste.

 Ingredients:

  • 200 ml skimmed milk / soy milk
  • 4 crushed dry dates (seedless)
  • Thin slices of 2 figs
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 thinly sliced almonds
  • 3 thinly sliced pistachios
  • 3 thinly sliced Cashews
  • 2tsp sugar optional since dates and figs are supposed to be sweet as well (Alternatively artificial sweetener like Sugar free or Equal can be used instead of sugar for diabetic patient)

Preparation

Pour milk in a bowl or a deep vessel. Heat this milk on a slow flame. Once the milk comes to boil, add dry dates and figs to it. Once the milk turns yellowish brown in colour, switch off the gas. Add the remaining dry fruits slices and cardamom powder on top. Stir it well. Taste it and see if it is sweet enough with the natural sweetness of dates and figs. If it is not sweet enough to suit your taste buds, you can add sugar or sugar substitute like ‘Sugar free’ or ‘Equal’ or ‘Stevia’ to the milk.  This can be refrigerated and served chilled
