I never had a craze or fondness for sweets, before marriage, but then my “sweet-tooth” hubby and his family have managed to draw me too into the world of desserts and sweets. So much so, whenever my parents visit us, they come with a bag of goodies filled with sweet boxes like Mysore Pak, Laddoos, Cashew toffees and ghee sweets, all different kinds of sweet specialties from Chennai.
Thanks to the Haldiram and Bikanerwala (famous food chain outlets in the north, for sweet and chat-patta items) sweets which we very often indulge in. Yet, my hubby loves to have home made sweets once in a way. I had a tough time making this sweet dish, no! Not the recipe (which as you can see is a very simple method), but because of my daughter who was all the while lingering around the table waiting to get a taste of the sweet. Even before the final laddoos were made, she already had smacked-up the mixture of milkmaid and coconut.
This short and sweet recipe is easy but one has to be patient, while mixing the ingredients together, to ensure that no lumps are formed.
Trust me, your family will enjoy this dessert; so go ahead and make yourself special with this sweet recipe of “Coconut laddoos”.
