I was doing a ‘restaurant search in Gurgaon’ on google. ½ hour went past and finally I found one with 6 reviews extolling the Italian Lounge Bar called ‘Earth’.
It’s tucked away in the corner of a shopping complex. The interiors live up to the name of the lounge with wooden furnishings, wooden beams on the ceilings, tables made of chopped tree trunks and bamboos for lamp shade stands. There are only a couple of Tables and the entire seating area has bright and tastefully done couches with soft cushions. It was dimly lit with soft music playing and is a perfect setting for a romantic dinner or any celebration.
The menu card was handed over to us and they were wooden framed too. We ordered Bruschetta- bread with toppings and herbs, Exotica Vegeteriano- saffron rice served with exotic vegetables cooked in saffron flavored cheese, a Greek salad with feta cheese and for desserts, a chocolate walnut brownie served with vanilla ice cream. There is a complimentary serving of soft bread with pesto sauce before the dishes arrive.
All dishes were made extremely well. The waiters are courteous and prompt and also make suggestions in the menu as per your taste. For eg: They asked me if I like the mustard flavor, if yes then I would like the Greek salad, and I indeed loved it. Later in the evening there was a live performance of music with songs being sung on request too.
Drinks are available and so are flavored hookahs (though we did not try them out). We lingered around even after paying the bill just for the songs and music. The bill for the two of us came to around 1000 bucks which is reasonable considering the ambience and quality of food.
I was so happy with the overall experience that apart from leaving a hefty tip I gave flattering comments in the feedback slip. A wonderful place indeed and I would definitely go there again even without a celebration.
