Thanks to my Aunt who gave me this sweet idea, to make some sweet idlis for my little one’s tiffin item, it was a great success. The sweetness of jaggery and coconut combined burst into a sweet teasing flavour which even we adults enjoyed. It can be served for breakfast or even as an evening snack.

The quantity specified in the idli post can be altered as per requirement.
Ingredients for the sweet idli:
- 2 tsp brown jaggery
- 1 cup of grated coconut
- ¼ tsp Cumin seeds (optional)
Method:
- In a bowl mix the jaggery, coconut and cumin seeds. Make a small disc like shape.
- Pour about half scoop of batter into the idli mould and place the jaggery-coconut mix in the centre and then pour over it batter to cover the sweet mix.
- Continue with rest of batter and follow the idli post steps to make yummy sweet idlis.
The quantity of ingredients specified makes about 8 idlis.
