The best thing about this recipe is that it requires just one vessel to cook it. It’s nutritious combining the goodness of greens, cereals and pulses. Have it hot with papad and pickle to savor it more.
Ingredients
- 200 gm rice
- 200 ml water
- 100 gm moong dal
- 1 bunch spinach
- 4-5 chopped garlic
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped tomato
- 3 green chilies
- 1/ tsp cumin seeds
- Sugar, a pinch
- Turmeric powder, a pinch
- Ghee
- Salt
Method
- Heat some ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel and add cumin seeds.
- Once it splutters add chopped garlic and onions and stir till it turns brown.
- Add the chopped chilies, tomato and spinach and salt, sugar, turmeric and water.
- Add the washed rice and moon dal and cover the vessel till it gets cooked.
- Serve hot
